Tong Ren Therapy – An Overview

Tong Ren Therapy is an exciting and powerful form of energy healing, the product of Tom Tam's research spanning more than 25 years. It combines the science of Western medicine with the wisdom of ancient Eastern knowledge and insights. Eastern medicine has long held that each organ in the body is kept healthy by the natural flow of Chi energy from the brain, and interruption or blockage of that necessary bioelectric signal leads to disease. Western science brings improved understanding of anatomy and neurology, potential technology to record bioelectrical events, and expertise in study design and statistical analysis to prove the effectiveness of this treatment modality.

However, Tong Ren is not simply the sum of two sciences. Its healing power grows a quantum leap by harnessing another natural tendency we have all observed – harmony. The perfectly synchronized movements of birds flying in a flock, or fish swimming in a school are not coordinated by the usual senses of sight, sound, smell, feel or taste, but rather by "brainwave entrainment". We know the human brain has a Frequency Following Response, tending to change its dominant electroencephalogram patterns toward the frequency of external stimuli. A natural propensity toward gradual synchronization is even seen in non-biologic systems, such as two pendulum clocks side-by-side on a wall. Tong Ren Therapy utilizes these natural tendencies toward synchronization to bring diseased organs back into harmony with the healthy bioelectrical patterns of the Tong Ren practitioners, but even more importantly into entrainment with the larger and more powerful collective unconsciousness.

Carl Jung, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin and others have described the ongoing development of a sphere of collective unconsciousness. An anthropologist, Teilhard traced the natural evolution of life on earth, from the development of cells, then plants, through animal and finally human form. Subsequent evolution has turned from outwardly-visible biologic evolution to internal intellectual development, and now finally globally evolving organization on the level of spirit-energy or a collective unconsciousness. We are all part of this progressive sphere of organization, regardless of our awareness. In Tong Ren Therapy we tap into this vast reserve of health sustaining energy. The identity of the individual practitioner does not matter, because the healing power does not come from the practitioner, but rather from the collectively evolving milieu.

Tong Ren practitioners use an acupuncture doll as a tool. They apply energy to particular points on this anatomic model with a magnetic hammer, or alternatively with a laser, acupuncture needle or electrical stimulation. In this way they focus their conscious mind on physical locations on the doll, corresponding to locations on the patient where the normal flow of nurturing Chi energy is blocked. This rhythmic and habitual tapping produces a connection between the subconscious of the practitioner and the corresponding locations on the person's body. That subconscious connection allows entrainment of the diseased organ and patient with the healthy bioelectrical signals and the vast healing energy of the larger collective unconsciousness. It is frequently successful and health is restored, if the conscious mind does not interfere.

Picture the Tong Ren practitioner as a piano tuner. The hammer strikes wires of errant pitch, so they may be brought into harmony with a series of tuning forks, each of which produces a complex waveform. And the actual retensioning of the cords is accomplished not by the tapper, but by an unseen assembly of maestros. Unseen but present -- the accepting recipient feels energetic change, then the medical tests improve.

Tong Ren practitioners never make a medical diagnosis or prescribe a treatment; they do not practice medicine. They depend upon your doctor or yourself to provide a diagnosis and the location of a medical problem. They never promise a cure or successful results, and do not interfere with traditional medical advice. They can only invite you to accept synchrony with healthy collective energy, and allow it to cure or stabilize your ailment. Once you have experienced others becoming cured, your belief will permit our collective unconsciousness to heal you also.
